With the third film, I found the blending of detail, colours and contrast to be a lot more even again, and the overall palette and contrast smoother. Even as doctors Grant (Sam Neill), Sattler (Laura Dern) and Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) finally arrive at Hammond's (Richard Attenborough) island, the narrative takes its time, showing first the huge electrical fences that hint at something dangerous being caged. It is flawless and tremendously exciting – and it possesses that amazing rib-crushing effect that you only seem to get from the full theatrical experience.

Although the packaging states that the disc features Dolby Vision, we have been unable to verify this yet. The basic action of the game -- shooting dinos, fetching items -- is handled fine, but is not necessarily compelling enough to make you want to replay the game over and over.

And while many films have attempted to imitate its success, very few films have quite matched the intensity, the wonder, and the sheer spectacle of Steven Spielberg's 1993 classic. Nevertheless, the transfer does offer plenty of nicely detailed sequences in daylight, with sharp, clean lines and great visibility of background info. Viewers can enjoy lots of good BTS footage while everyone talks about practical effects, set design, shooting on location as well as in a soundstage and the choice of the Spinosaurus as the new villain.

For those unaware, Jurassic Park was the very first film mixed and released in DTS digital surround. Then again, there's really only one scene which comes to mind, involving a pair of T-Rexes, their newborn dino, a large, extended RV trailer and lots of loud crashing roars amid a rainstorm. Depth and details are far more refined here, and visual clarity is leaps and bounds beyond the old DVD. I wouldn't have been surprised to find banding fuzzing things up during this scene but, happily, this was not the case at all.On a remote tropical island, an amazing living theme park becomes a game of survival for humans foolhardy enough to set foot on it. The DTS-HD Master Audio conveys a consistent wall of sound that's highly engaging and movement across the soundstage that seems fluid and effortless. It does make for some entertaining moments that fans of the books can delight in, though the story will still leave much to be desired. The visit to ILM studios shows the process of creating CGI creatures with specific lifelike details and making it all work with the live action sequences.
