My hyundai elantra developed a really bad leak after a lousy job done by the mechanic, which he didn't wanna own up !

Didn't drive the Volvo very much after son didn't need a car for now at college so forgot about the leak. Compression tests are usually an indication of the condition of your piston rings and valve adjustment/valve seats. Until you get a more solid diagnosis, I don't recommend blindly pouring any additive or quick-fix fluid into the engine. Thanks for your reply - that's the answer I was hoping to hear, as I'm considering using this product to address the modest leak I have on the alternator bracket gasket/o-ring, until such time as I can undertake a permanent fix. I did have some drips under my pan but last week I switched to high mileage oil, so that may help with the leaking.

I pulled out the o-rings and kind of wiped them with the solution a few times and let it soak in a little bit and put them back in. Not sure if it has been leaking or if it was from when my car overheated briefly last week when the coolant tank broke. I put it in the engine and transmission since both were changed around the same time even though I'm pretty sure it was transmission fluid.Put 1 bottle in the rear end differential so attempt to stop a very minor leak around the pinion seal. Oil Saver completely stopped the leaks on my father's Taurus (though after me driving quate a bit more than he has in recent years). I realise there's no substitute for replacing a faulty or worn seal, however as a 'quick fix', is this stuff any good?
