I'm not sure what made this so dull for me, because there were some plot points that should have been really exciting. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

The secondary characters had depth which added to the scenes, especially the scenes of comedic relief, it didn't feel out of place or forced.Heroine is human with a god's gift to do with crystal and energy - I'm sure she ends up being the perfect bride for the hero and helps them get rid of the mysterious stone affliction to the skin. Prince Faraine was a very relatable character as she dealt with her empathetic powers, crazy family, and her lot in life with quiet grace. The storyline is strong and holds great potential, and I would have enjoyed and appreciated this book had it displayed more progress within this book to really immerse me into the story and see the vision that the author is trying to create.

While the focus is of course on Faraine and Vor, other characters and relationships are not neglected. I am not willing to sit with the unpleasant feelings this book gives me if it doesn’t resolve satisfactorily in this book. Sí, sigue siendo igual de interesante pero bueno ya dejaré dicha opinión para su correspondiente reseña.I was shocked by how long this book was and I fully expected everything to be wrapped up by the end, in terms of the plot and character development.

If you have any kinds of triggers around loss of bodily autonomy this will probably be very upsetting and even traumatic(which I didn’t know was a thing, but apparently very much is for me). If you like reading about tough heroines with extraordinary powers facing their demons and saving their loved ones .What I do not fancy is the reaction of Von and the lack of common sense about the situation that unfolded before this book ended. The Good: I enjoyed the world building and how this author went about doing it in a way that didn’t bombard me with too much back story.

Needless to say, it has wonderful twists and turns that you don't expect, and such a poignant feeling of betrayal that it will break your heart then tear it out of your chest. The relationship between Sul and Vor was perfect, as to be expected from half-brothers, and Sul was so sassy! Yes there’s deceit and lying between the characters but unlike other reviewers I found it very interesting.

Larongar offers his favourite daughter, Faraine's younger, stunning and songful sister, Ilsevel's hand in marriage to Vor. With fantastic chemistry between the two protagonists (who I knew I would be rooting for from their first meeting! There was one spicy scene in this first novel, though I imagine there may be more to come in the rest of the series. Vor and Faraine were everything💙I loved the dual-POV in this and how we actually got to see the same scene from a different POV. And when she finally found someone who lessened that pain, who grounded her, who saw her for who she was and loved every part of her, she had to let him go.
